Frequently Asked Questions About Christianity

In today’s techno-friendly language, we often see lists of “frequently asked questions” (FAQ) followed by answers to those questions.  Centuries before the first computer, churches around the world used the frequently asked question – answer technique to help people understand the Bible. Churches called them  “Catechisms”.  It doesn’t make any difference whether you call them “FAQ’s” or “Catechisms”.  What matters is that if you have a question about what Presbyterians believe in terms of what the Bible says, the Presbyterian Church (USA) has a great web site that can answer almost any question you may have.

At http://www.pcusa.org/theologyandworship/confession/studycatechism.htm you will find a list of 134 frequently asked questions with a short answer and Bible verse to help you understand what Presbyterians believe. 

Although not designed for this purpose, the link above can also serve as a structured daily Bible reading.  Simply take one question-answer per day to read and study what you think it means in your own life.  If you aren’t sure, talk it over with the people in your small group, with a friend, or stop by and see the Pastor.
